How this truck load profit estimate works
Fuel cost uses total loaded plus deadhead miles divided by MPG, multiplied by diesel price. Fixed monthly costs are allocated by trip miles over monthly miles. Variable costs and per-mile driver pay use all trip miles; revenue per mile uses loaded miles. Add any costs or revenue that apply to your load.
This is a planning estimate, not a rate quote or guarantee. It does not include taxes, factoring charges, detention, or other items unless you enter them. Your actual cost and settlement can differ.
Load profit calculator FAQ
How do I estimate profit on a trucking load?
Add loaded and deadhead miles, estimate fuel from your truck MPG and diesel price, include driver pay and other trip costs, then compare total costs with the load revenue. This estimator also allocates monthly fixed truck costs across the trip miles.
Does the load profit calculator include deadhead miles?
Yes. Empty miles are included in fuel, maintenance, fixed-cost allocation, and per-mile driver pay. Load revenue per mile is calculated on loaded miles only.
How is fixed cost allocated to a load?
Monthly truck and business overhead is divided by your estimated monthly miles, then multiplied by the total loaded and deadhead miles for this load. Change the monthly miles to match your truck.
Are my numbers saved or sent to UFN?
No. The calculator runs in your browser. Your entries are not sent to a UFN account or server. Download a CSV if you want to keep a copy.
Is this a guaranteed profit or market-rate quote?
No. This is a planning estimate based on the values you enter. It does not include unlisted costs, market-rate data, taxes, or unexpected delays. Confirm the actual rate and expenses before accepting a load.
